Latest update to our new arrangements going forward we will in future be working very closly with Medics 4 Ukraine and World Extreme Medicine. These well established organisations concentrate on suppling medical assistance to those in need throughought Ukraine.
It has become more and more difficult to fund and run our own opperation for many reasons.So to be able to work with establised organisations who can handle the logistics of delivering and distributing urgently required humanitarian aid is a perfect fit with what we do. 4 days after leaving Somerset our 4th truck is in Kyiv at a safe storage site awaiting distribution
All aid is stored in Kyiv and then distributed to hospitals and aid centers around Ukraine by Patriot volenteers !

Truck loading day 11th March
Our 4th humanitarian aid truck was loaded by hand, on Saturday 11th March in cold and wet conditions by a great team of volunteers.
S.A.F.U. members organised the purchasing of even more medical equipment and generators, then arranged collections, deliveries, storage, sorting and packing of aid into boxes. These were then loaded by the volunteers into the 40ft articulated truck, which is now heading for Ukraine.

latest update from Ukraine
The truck and it’s load arrived safely and the aid onboard is now where it’s most needed!
A map of where the aid has been delivered mostly in eastern Ukraine where its most needed.
The truck that left Somerset 21st January, with all items on board has now unloaded!
The generators you can see above are now at work in various hospitals and at a childrens home. Also various medicines, medical equipment, food, warm clothing, pet food etc have now been distributed amongst some very grateful civilian and military personel .

15 Generators are on their way !
We have bought 4 generators and 4 powerpacks and have had 11 generators and 1 power pack donated all loaded onto the truck on the 21st Jan heading for Ukraine and will be delivered to Kyiv and Kherson w/c 23rd Jan 2023
We have been able to do this due to your generosity in donating money and attending our fundraising events. Thank you so much for your support so far, If there is any more financial donations due to be sent in we might be able to buy even more generators in time for the truck!

This truck was loaded in early December at our storage facilities in Bridgwater and Taunton then driven to Ukraine in time for Christmas!

The cost of transport
We have found it is more cost effective to send one large truck rather than several vans but it is still a huge cost of between £3,000 -£4,000
We are using a Ukrainian haulier to transport the supplies directly through to the areas of most need where it then delivered to end users by smaller vehicles.
